College Volleyball in the USA

The United States has been a leading nation in volleyball for many years, and several talented players have developed their skills at American universities. Combining volleyball and education opens the door to an opportunity for athletic, academic and personal development after you graduate from high school.

With a focus on your athletic and academic level we work on maximizing opportunities and lowering the cost of college for high level athletes on a daily basis. We achieve this through Volleyball Scholarships.

Curious about how volleyball scholarships work and how you can qualify for them? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Volleyball scholarships in USA

Volleyball Scholarships are available in both NCAA Division 1 and 2 as well as the NAIA. They can partially or fully cover the cost of education and are a great opportunity to fund higher education while playing at an elite level.

The differences between men and women in Volleyball in the USA

Women’s volleyball is significantly more prevalent than men’s volleyball in the US.
On the women’s side, there are over 3000 college teams, whereas on the men’s side there are no more than 250.
On the men’s side, they are limited to 4.5 scholarships per squad whereas on the women’s side they have a limit of 12 scholarships per squad. This is due to legislation and the fact that many other sports favor men in the US.
College volleyball in the US is for everyone, but in terms of participation and numbers, female volleyball is bigger than male volleyball.

What is important in the process of getting a scholarship?

Of course, to get a good Sport Scholarship as a volleyball player, you need to be a good volleyball player.
This is where your highlights and any full matches really matter.
Your academic level will also influence the amount you end up having to pay for your stay.
We will go over the most important points below.

The importance of highlight videos

A highlight video is your chance to impress a college coach directly. It shows your skill level and athleticism and helps coaches assess whether you could be the right addition to their team.

Making a good first impression and staying on the coaches’ radar is crucial when applying for a volleyball team. We usually help our clients with highlights, but below you’ll find a list of important actions broken down by different positions on the field.
